Admission Procedure

UG Admission

The UG admission is made in two parts, namely, the Government quota and Management quota. The government quota admission of 65% of sanctioned strength is made by single window counseling conducted by Anna University, Chennai/ Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai, on behalf of state Government. For Management quota admission of 35% of sanctioned strength, the state government has formed a committee for regulating admission in all engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. The committee is headed by a retired Judge. This regulation committee authorizes the association of engineering colleges to fill the management seats of all engineering colleges. The students get application forms from this association and send their applications opting for the colleges of their choice. The association prepares the rank list and accordingly issues allotment order to the candidate based on the choice of the college. The management quota admission is done based on the allotment order issued by the management association.

PG Admission

The PG admission is also made in two parts, namely, the Government quota and Management quota. The Government quota admission is made by single window counseling conducted by Anna University, Chennai / Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai, on behalf of state Government through TANCA (Tamil Nadu Common Admission). The Management quota admission is done by the entrance exam conducted by the Association of Engineering Colleges.

UG
Qualified Examinations and Eligibility - B.E / B.Tech Degree Courses (As per government norms)

HSC (Academic)
A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together as given below:

HSC (Vocational)

A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational subject) with any one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry with a minimum average percentage put together as given below:

Diploma

• The candidate who have passed 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognized by Central / Stage Governments.
• OC candidates should have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.
• BC / BCM / MBC & DNC / SC / SCA / ST candidates should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate in all the semesters put together.

PG

• Eligibility Qualifications for admission to - M.B.A./M.C.A./M.E/M.Tech.Degree programmes (as per Government Norms).

MBA

A pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained at least 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

• 10+2+3 years pattern (or)
• 10+3 years Diploma* + 3 years pattern (or)
• B.E / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Pharm (or)
• 10+2 + AMIE** (or) 10+3 years Diploma* + AMIE*

MCA

A pass in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained atleast 50% (45% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examinations.
