Lord Jegannath College of Engineering and Technology is located in a pollution free and beautiful campus at Ramanathichanputhur, which is about 15 kms east of Nagercoil and 15 kms North of Kanyakumari in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu. Its founder Dr. P. Suyambu Nadar is an educationalist and his prime aim is to impart quality education in all his institutions. The foundation stone for LJCET was laid on 28.09.2005 by Mr. M. Subramani, IPS, the Superintendent of Police of Kanyakumari District in the presence of our Chairman and other dignitaries. The AICTE approval was received on 03.07.2006(file no: 06/05/TN/ENGG/2006/003, July 3, 2006).
The Anna University granted the affiliation on 21.07.2006. The college was inagurated on 21.08.2006 with four engineering branches (Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering). In the subsequent academic year (2007-2008) B.Tech Information Technology, MBA and MCA were started. The first batch of our students successfully completed their courses in April/May 2010. The aim of our institutions is to impart quality education and to develop good citizens. Efforts are taken to develop LJCET to be a top ranking institution like NITs or IITs.
